Job Overview

The Tropic Brewing in Waterbury, Vermont is looking for new team members to join our community focused, family-friendly tap room. Join our brewery as a tap room bartender and help us create an exceptional experience for our guests. The role can be expanded to assist with covering events, content creation, or being more involved in brewery and distribution operations depending on skill and availability. Night and weekend shifts available. Hourly wage (with tips) ranges between $22-$30+/hour depending on shift.  Email info@thetropic.com to apply.

Duties

• Greet all guests at bar promptly and with a friendly attitude

• Familiarize yourself with the beer menu and basic beer tasting notes as the menu changes frequently

• Pour draft and canned items, as well as prepare beer-based mixed drinks to specifications (ie michelada, shandies, black-and-tan, etc.)

• Comply with responsible alcohol server training

• Stock beverages and complete periodic inventories to ensure sufficient supply

• Prepare quick-service food items such as chips & salsa as well as other snack plates following established recipes and safety standards

• Maintain strict food handling and sanitation standards in accordance with health regulations

• Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate service needs during high-volume times or special events

• Operating the point of sale system to reconcile sales

• Maintaining cash drawer

  
  

Skills & Qualifications

• Must be 21+ years of age

• Responsible alcohol server certification such as VT DLL 1st Class Server’s Certificate or equivalent 

• Familiarity with and enthusiasm about craft beer

• Basic math and cashier skills

• Ability to lift 50 lbs or more

• Must have excellent customer service skills including tact, patience, courtesy, and problem-solving ability.

• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with guests and team members

• Experience in bar or food service environments a plus
